"Small enough to care, Big enough to inspire"
Summer 2 - 2016
In the final topic of the year the children come to Little Red Riding Hood’s rescue. Her basket has broken and Tesco wants to charge her 5p for a new bag. The children, who are environmentally friendly will, design, made, test and try to persuade Miss Hood that their bags are a fantastic replacement for her basket.

Our new topic will be - Things that go bump in the night. - The word monster conjures up different images for different people. What one person finds scary another will not. In this topic we will be looking at fictional monsters and trying to find real ones. Our search will takes us around the world and allows us to name and locate the world’s continents and oceans. We will also have an opportunity to create our own maps and undertake some local field work. We will finish our topic with writing our own story about a monster.
Spring 2 - 2016
What can you see in a picture? This half term Year Two will be investigating colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space. We will be examining the work of a range of artists describing the similarities and differences between them. This will enable us to use what we have learnt to create our own 'masterpiece' to display in our art gallery at the end of our topic. This topic will also provide the children with many opportunities to learn a range of maths and literacy skills along with a science investigation about suitable materials to make a sculpture.
