Home Learning

In the event you have to take time off school due to track & trace / testing or waiting for results and to prevent you falling behind, each week I will be uploading activities to the Home Learning page, including: LIteracy, Maths, Topic, Spellings and Handwriting. Some of these activities we will be completing in school and some will be additional to keep you busy! There are still lots of resources and activities on the school Blog and via the various websites that were highlighted during lockdown e.g. BBC bitesize so feel free to make use of them. Please post your work to the blog or within your 10 minute challenge book to show Mr Bayliss on your return.

Remember there is no expectation to complete the Home Learning activities if you are poorly.

If you have any issues or need to ask myself a question, feel free to contact me on

Thanks, Mr Bayliss :)

Summer 2 Overview

Summer 1 Overview

Homework packs will be handed out (17.3.2020) in case of school closure.

We have focused on key Reading, Writing and Maths skills and children will be expected to dedicate at least 30 minutes to each of these subject areas a day. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if you’d like to share your learning, my email address is

A key focus for Year 2 will be our number bond fluency using the NumBots app as well as times tables. There is an activity within your child's pack for 2, 5 and 10 x to support your child's learning as well as a Maths Jotter book to practice. Maths activities / tasks will be uploaded to this page dependent on how long we are closed for. Links for Numbots are listed below, if you are having trouble logging in or have forgotten usernames / passwords, please contact Mr Bayliss on the above email.

We have provided a full list of Year 2 'common exception words' to act as spellings and a handwriting focus. All the packs contain 'how to' activities for letter formation; this should act as a guideline and practice should not be limited to what is on the sheet. Children have a reading comprehension activity in their pack which is targeted at their reading ability, like Maths more will be posted in the eventuality that we are closed for an extended period of time. Other Literacy activities you could be completing at home include; writing a short story, a 'who am I riddle?' or writing a set of instructions. As well as the reading  comprehension activities to work through, please ensure that children continue to read a selection of texts for 20 minutes a day (library books, guided reading books, red book box books or any books you have at home).

Children will be expected to complete one piece of topic work a week. Please see this page for links as well as the Knowledge Driver sheet on the website for homework ideas and links.

I will continue to communicate via MarvellousMe, again if you are having trouble with this app please contact the above email.

Many thanks

Mr Bayliss
