Pirate Pictures!

In our Art lessons this week we have been looking at texture to make some pirate pictures. After discussing what texture was and thinking up words to describe different textures we first made an ocean background using white oil pastels, different shades of blue paint and salt to give the appearance of texture. We then painted a base colour onto our pirate ship before adding black accents and scraping away the paint using a fork to give the appearance of wood grain. Finally, we combined our pieces and added our own Jolly Roger flag design and some chopped loo rolls for sails!
