Systems and Structures
Year 1
We have been exploring ways in which we can combine and join materials together, creating own our individual castles linked to our History topic. We have shown we can cut, measure and mark out shapes and we will develop this to explore simple movements and mechanisms, using levers and sliders to create fun, moving Christmas cards.
Year 6
We have been practising and extending our knowledge of electrical circuitry and switches by making our own colourful carousels; making cross curricular links with Science to explore how more complex electrical circuits can be used to create a functional system that uses pulleys and/or gears to create the movement for them.
