"Small enough to care, Big enough to inspire"

Week 2

Monday 1st March - today we are going to begin planning our first attempt at a persuasive text. This week we are going to be writing a persuasive advert to encourage people to visit Egypt. Have a look at the planning template below (you can use this - either create your own version of it or print the template) and use Miss Mabbott's example along with your knowledge from last term's topic to begin planning your own persuasive advert for Egypt.

Tuesday 2nd March - today I would like you to begin writing your persuasive advert about Egypt. But you only need to write the introduction and 1st paragraph as we will continue writing tomorrow. Remember to use your plan and Miss Mabbott's example to help you but do not just copy. You need to expand upon your plan!

Remember to write in paragraphs, use joined up writing, capital letters, commas and full stops, alliteration, repetition and rhetorical questions.

Wednesday 3rd March today I would like you to finish writing your persuasive advert about Egypt. You need to write your 2nd and 3rd paragraphs and the conclusion. Remember to use your plan and Miss Mabbott's example to help you but do not just copy. You need to expand upon your plan!

Remember to write in paragraphs, use joined up writing, capital letters, commas and full stops, alliteration, repetition and rhetorical questions.

Thursday 4th March - today is World Book Day and this year's theme is Share a Story Live. At 10:30 am there is a live event called Words and Pictures bringing books to life https://www.worldbookday.com/event/words-pictures-bring-reading-to-life/ where you can watch and listen to lots of different authors talking about their books.

Or there is a live lesson at 11:30am https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/live-lessons/world-book-day-2021-live-lesson/z2thm39

Then see if you can create your own mini picture book using the template below. Think about what your story could be about, who the characters might be or you could create your own story about your favourite book character.  Don't forget to illustrate your mini book!

Friday 5th March - today I would like you to write a setting description of the picture below. Try to write a couple of paragraphs - remember to use lots of adjectives, similes and think about your senses (touch, sight, smell, taste, sounds/what you can hear). I want to see your best writing! Can you remember to write in paragraphs, join up your writing, remember capital letters, full stops, commas? Check out my example below but don't copy!
