Our Class Teacher in Year 6 is Mrs Brown and Mrs Williams is our Teaching Assistant. The adults can be found helping us every day in Year 6 so please feel free to pop in and meet the team.
We are delighted to let you know that we will be continuing to use MarvellousMe to keep you informed of your child's learning and achievements in school. If you have any questions or would like help in accessing the app then please do not hesitate to ask.
All children are expected to read regularly (at least 4 times a week) and to keep an up-to-date record in their ‘Homework Diary’. Homework diaries will be collected in every Wednesday and our reading chart will also be updated on this day. We will change library books once a week on Tuesdays.
Weekly spellings will be sent home every Friday and ‘checked’ (tested) the following Friday. Spelling sheets will be collected in and a record is kept of the children’s weekly score.
Homework ideas are sent out weekly. We love to see what you have been doing at home and make sure we celebrate and share your wonderful efforts on our ‘ Best Work’. Children will be expected to bring homework back on Monday, Thursday and Friday and put it into the homework tray for marking. We do still ask that your child practices their spellings along with their numeracy fluency target (times tables) each week as this will have a significant impact on their learning. On Mondays a My Maths activity will be set, On Tuesdays we will do a longer piece of homework which needs to be returned by Thursday. On Thursday we will set a purple mash activity. On Friday the children will have spellings to learn and may be an extra piece of homework linked to topic or science.
In the Autumn term we will be having PE on Friday mornings .
It is essential the children need to bring in named water bottles every day; these can be refilled at school.
