Parents and children joined Pershore Round Table during the evening of the last day of term to help Santa and his sleigh bring joy and festive cheer to local residents. The money collected through the Santa Sleigh runs is donated predominantly to local charities and good causes, and last year our school was fortunate to benefit from this. Thank you to all the parents and children who supported this event.
Thank you so much for all the cards, gifts and good wishes given to staff this week – it really is appreciated! We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.
There was a lot of excitement in school yesterday as the children took part in the Christmas Fun Day organised by the Friends. Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of activities, including biscuit decorating, making hot chocolate reindeer, Christmas bingo, Christmas word searches and colouring, making decorations, and a scavenger hunt! Staff and pupils also joined together in the hall at lunchtime to enjoy Christmas lunch provided by The Deli. We would like to say a really big "thank you" to the Friends for organising this amazing event for the children.
On Monday 15 December, we invited parents and families to our Christmas Service at Pershore Abbey. This was a whole school performance with every class having a starring role – Year 6 told the Christmas story, acted out by Reception, and each class performed a song. It has been lovely to hear the children practising their songs over the past few weeks, and we hope you all enjoyed the Service as much as the children enjoyed practising it!
Have you got a Christmas jumper you have outgrown? If you do, the PTA would love you to donate it to their swap rail where it can find a new home! Please drop any donations into the school office. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising for Children in Need – we raised the fantastic sum of £235.07 for this charity!
Pershore Civic Society President, Dr Judy Dale, and Chairman, Michael Hodges, recently visited our school to present the 2025 Avonreach Academy Trust/Pershore Civic Society Citizenship Awards. These annual awards recognise pupils who have demonstrated exceptional citizenship skills, leadership, and community spirit throughout the past year.
On Wednesday evening, pupils in our Year 5 and 6 classes travelled by coach to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon to watch the RSC's production of Roald Dahl's The BFG. This was an unforgettable trip for both the adults and the children, full of storytelling and imagination, as the story of The BFG was brought to life through amazing puppetry and performances.
Pershore Abbey is currently hosting a Christmas Wreath Festival in its side aisles, featuring wreaths made by local schools and organisations that are on display until Epiphany (January 4, 2026). Our Christmas wreath is made up of paper hands cut out by all the children in school. If you have a moment, please go along to the Abbey to see the display.
Delta Sports are organising a Christmas Nerf Ops on Sunday 14 December. Please see the attached poster for more information.
On Monday this week, pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed their visit to the Think Tank Museum in Birmingham to support their topics on Space and Electricity. The children were able to explore the hands-on interactive displays as well as watch the Earth and Beyond Show (Year 5) and the Electrifying Science Show (Year 6). Thank you to our parent helpers for supporting the children on this trip.
