Welcome to the Friends of Orchard Primary School! 

Who are we and what do we do?

The PTA is a small, friendly group of parents, grandparents, carers and teachers who organise various events throughout the school year to raise lots of money to fund the "extras" that the school is unable to provide through their budget, making our children's learning experience even more fulfilling and exciting.

In recent years, we have helped to fund a sensory garden, bought presents for the children at Christmas and paid for transport for many school trips.  The majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run, such as the Summer Fête, Christmas Fayre, Quiz Night and Chocolate Bingo!

Is it just about fundraising?

Fundraising is, of course, a really important part of what we do, but the PTA is much more than that.  The PTA strengthens the link between home and school, bringing staff, parents and children together socially to support the school.  We hold discos for the children, bake cakes, serve refreshments at school events and organise a visit from Santa at the Christmas Fayre! Whatever the event, we work together and have lots of fun along the way.  The PTA is a great way for new parents to make friends.

When does the PTA meet?

We usually meet about once each half-term and sometimes, when there is an event to be organised, a subcommittee may arrange to meet more frequently.  Meetings are usually held in the evenings at school or at a local pub!. If you would like to help out but cannot attend meetings, you can join the Friends of the PTA, and we will send you regular updates of what we are up to and details of how you can help out.

The Friends have their own Facebook page – Friends of Orchard Primary – where you can keep up to date with events and activities they are organising.
