What a very creative afternoon we had, putting our DT carousel designs into 3D on Tinkercad. We used the skills we have been learning: changing the size of shapes, adding colour and layering them up to produce a detailed drawing.  Very impressive use of the program and its features. Well done Year 6!

Today we had a visit from the History Man who shared lots of artefacts and knowledge about World War 2 with us. We tried on military outfits, gas masks and even tried to put out a fire using a pump hose! Seeing real artefacts from history was exciting and gave us a greater understanding of this period of history.

This week we started to work on our Design and Technology Fairground rides, measuring and cutting using a saw. We used the safety skills we have been taught and worked closely with others, sharing and taking turns to use the tools.

We enjoyed exploring the program Tinkercad in Computing again this week, designing a name badge for ourselves.

On Monday 24th November we went on an exciting trip to Think Tank Birmingham linking to our science topic of electricity. We watched a show about the history of electric discovery.

We have also continued to work on our designs for a fairground ride in Design and Technology. We made sure we worked through our design criteria to annotate our drawings carefully.

In our Reading lesson today, we role-played, taking on the characters from our text about World War 2.

Enjoying a trip to Number 8 to watch 'How to Train Your Dragon' as part of the Into Film Festival.

Thank you Number 8 for a great afternoon.

Children in Need fun with Joe Wicks Live! The whole school got together to start the day the active way. We have also been following Radio One DJ Sara Cox and her Great Northern Marathon Challenge.

Using the Cuisenaire rods in Maths to support our algebraic equations.

Working collaboratively on our new DT topic - fairground rides. Planning in 3D!
