School Readiness

In September, some of your children will be starting Reception. It is very important that your children are ready for this step up into "big school" and there are lots of things you can be doing at home to get them ready. These skills include:

Getting dressed all by yourself 

Eating with a knife and fork 

Saying "please" and "thank you" 

Washing and drying your hands 

Waiting your turn to talk 

Taking turns when playing 

Using scissors to cut out shapes
