Today we celebrated World Book Day and came to school in our pyjamas ready to take part in lots of book related activities! Our Year 5 class were invited to Pershore High School today to watch the first performance of their school production "The Addams Family". The children watched the show and then took part in a workshop, working alongside the High School's Performing Arts Team and sixth formers to learn the dance and singing to the opening number of the show "When You're an Addams". The session ended with a chance to perform on the stage under the stage lighting!
Yesterday Year 6 were invited to Pershore Abbey along with other local schools to take part in a science and faith linked workshop. They had the opportunity to meet some real scientists and were able to discuss some big questions as well as come up with their own to ask the scientists. The children had a great day thinking about how the world began and who created humans/how life began. It was a very thought-provoking day!
Today we welcomed a specialist coach into school for a Cricket Engagement Day. All Stars Cricket is an ECB initiative and is aimed at providing children with a great first experience in cricket and is designed to teach the basic skills of the game. Children in Reception - Year 5 had a lot of fun taking part in activities such as catching, throwing batting and bowling.
Parents of pupils in Year 6 will receive an email/letter this morning to notify them of their offer of a High School place for September 2024. We were very pleased to receive a certificate confirming our donation to the Make A Wish Foundation following the Y4, 5 and 6 Bake Sale last term. Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising.
The children in Year 5 participated in a captivating virtual reality workshop centred around space exploration. They thoroughly enjoyed this interactive experience which sparked so much curiosity and enriched their learning.
Yesterday several of our pupils came to school in their Brownie uniform to celebrate Brownies Thinking Day; this happens every 22 February and is a chance for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world to think about each other, the worldwide movement they're part of, and important issues. In 2024, the theme of World Thinking Day is Our World, Our Thriving Future. The children enjoyed telling their class what they do at this Club and how they earn their badges.
Yesterday, Year 1 and Year 3 attended the AAT Dance Festival at Number 8 in Pershore. The children have been working really well with Mr Ferman over the last few weeks to learn and practice their routines. They performed beautifully and really enjoyed the opportunity to dance on the stage. Well done everyone!
