What is an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?

If a child's needs cannot be met with the level of support we typically offer in school, we can ask the Local Authority (LA) to assess a child for an EHCP. 

These plans are legally binding documents that set out the support that education, health and care providers must provide. Schools receive extra funding from the Local Authority for pupils who have an EHCP to assist them in providing the specialist support the child needs.
