Useful Information
Marvellous Me:
We are delighted to let you know that we will be continuing to use Marvellous Me to keep you informed of your child's learning and achievements in school. If you have any questions or would like help in accessing the app then please do not hesitate to ask.
Reading:
All children are expected to read regularly (at least 4 times a week) and keep an up-to-date record in their ‘School Planner'. Planners will be checked on the day of your child's guided reading session with Mr Perry.
Spellings:
Weekly spellings will be sent home every Friday with homework and ‘checked’ (tested) the following Friday. Spellings will be posted on the homework page and children will be given a paper copy.
Homework:
We will be setting the children homework challenges to complete at home each week. These challenges will include maths, English (either reading or SPaG) and a topic activity. The homework will be added to the homework page on the website and the children will be given a paper copy.
Maths Fluency Targets:
This half term Year 4 will be revisiting their times tables. We really appreciate your support and encouragement with this as it is important that the children are revisiting these regularly at home as well as in school. Please use the following link for our Maths Fluency page which has lots of great links and games to help https://www.orchardprimary.org.uk/times-tables/
PE:
This half term, our P.E lesson will be on a Tuesday. Please can we remind you that full P.E kits, with suitable footwear, should always be in school and can be kept on the children’s pegs. Please also ensure that all school uniform and P.E kits are clearly labelled.
Water Bottles:
All children need to bring a named water bottle to school each day please.
Internet Safety:
A big focus this year will be learning how to stay safe online. Important information and updates will be sent where necessary and the following websites also have lots of information:

We use the child-friendly search engine 'Kiddle' when carrying out research in school and recommend that the children do the same when they are online at home (link below). Please make sure you supervise your child while they are online and do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support - The Year 4 Team.
