Week 1

We've been blown away by your amazing homework projects so far this year and it's been lovely to hear how much you've enjoyed completing them.

As such, for this week's 10 minute challenge, please use the time to familiarise yourself with our 'Ancient Maya' Knowledge Organiser (below) and complete a mini homework project based on our new topic. This will be due next Monday (24th) when we'll have our next 'Topic Walking Gallery' to show your fabulous creations! 

We'll share lots of ideas in school and can also send any resources home that may be needed. Please still continue to read, complete your spellings and times table practice each night. Thank you and enjoy :)   

Possible ideas:

• Research and create a fact file for Central America.
• Come up with your top 5 question that you'd like to ask someone from this period in history. As a challenge, what might their answers to your question be? 
• Prove, by using evidence (e.g. pictures, facts etc), what a person's life may have been like back in the ancient Maya times. As a challenge, would this have been the case for everyone (consider gender, class etc). 
• Test foods from Central America (past or present). You could even create a recipe if you wish. 
• Research and present the Ancient Maya timeline.
• Design (or even make) clothing or a dwelling that links to this period in history.
• Create a PPT with you top facts.
• Produce your own piece of Topic inspired artwork.
• Film and advert or informative video for Central America.
