World War 2 Day

On Monday 1 November, Year 6 took part in a World War II experience and came to to school dressed as evacuees, home guards, land girls or soldiers.

 

The children learned all about conscription and the adventures of a Spitfire pilot. Drama formed part of this immersive experience and pupils imagined how life could have been very different if they'd been born during the war years, or if the Allies hadn't fought for - and won - freedom.
