  • Pershore Christmas Light Switch On

    We are very pleased to announce that Milo was the winner of the Christmas Poetry Competition, organised by Pershore Youth Council, and was invited to switch on the Christmas lights in Pershore on Saturday afternoon!  Milo had his photo taken with the Town Mayor and was presented with a prize before being asked to push the red button to turn on the lights.  The celebrations finished with a firework display.

     

    Imogen was the runner-up in the competition and was also presented with a prize by the Mayor. 

     

    Congratulations both of you!

  • 2016 Poppy Appeal

    Thank you to everyone who supported the Poppy Appeal this year.  We have received a Certificate of  Appreciation this morning from the Pershore & District Branch of the Royal British Legion for our support in raising £166.24!
  • Finding Dory

    As part of the Into Film Festival, all the children in Years 1 - 4 enjoyed a trip to Number 8 in Pershore this morning to watch the film Finding Dory.  Into Film puts film at the heart of children and young people's education, contributing to their academic, cultural, creative and personal development.  The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit.  Thank you to all the parents who helped on this trip - we hope you enjoyed the film too!
  • Children-in-Need

    There were spots galore in school on Friday as children and staff dressed in something spotty for Children-in-Need!  After school pupils and parents were able to visit our Children-in-Need shop to purchase cookies and cakes, play games, have their face painted and buy various items made by the children.  We were delighted to raise £152.23.
  • Y1 Visit Cotswold Wildlife Park

    Mr Bayliss' class braved the wind and rain yesterday at the Cotswold Wildlife Park!  The trip was organised as part of their topic this term and the children learnt a lot about Meerkats as well as being able to watch several feeding sessions with different animals.  All the children really enjoyed their day out and are looking forward to using their new knowledge in their topic work.  A big thank you to all our parent helpers who made this trip possible.
  • Pershore Schools Armistice Service

    Our Year 3 and Year 4 Classes were proud to represent Cherry Orchard at the Pershore Schools Armistice Service at the Abbey this morning.   Aimee, Sam and Richard read The History of the Remembrance Poppy during the service which was led Reverend Claire Lording.  School wreaths were also laid at the Commemorative Stone by children from each of the local schools.
  • Celebration Assembly

    This morning we were very pleased to celebrate the achievements of the following children: Josh P (Big Read medal), Paige (Big Read medal), Alice (Miraculous Magic certificate and swimming challenge Silver Award), Emily and Michael (completing 8 miles during Bredon Hill Bikeaway), Frankee (2nd place in Great Comberton Show competition), Alex (Big Friendly Read medal), Hetty (Duckling Award 1 and 2), Milo (swimming challenge Silver Award), William (50m swimming distance award and Stage 5 swimming award), Arabella (Stage 2+3 swimming awards and 10m distance award), Carla (25m swimming distance award), Cody (25m swimming distance award) and Brett, Alex, Logan S, Finlay M, Jack, Gabriel and Chelsea (for taking part in a Football Tournament at Bowbrook House School).  Mrs Bitcon also gave out bronze medals to Anya, Chelsea, Olivia, Aimee, Brett, Alex, Samuel and Joshua which they won at South Worcestershire Quicksticks Festival in October.

     

    The children who had achieved 20, 40 or 60 reads were presented with a badge and all the children with birthdays from 1 October - 10 November were given a piece of birthday cake!

     

    Thank you to all the parents and friends who came to our Assembly this morning.

     

     

  • Reception visit Malvern Theatre

    Yesterday morning our Reception Class visited Malvern Theatre to watch Stickman and Room on the Broom; the children are learning about both these stories as part of their Autumn Term Topic.  The children were very excited to go on their first school trip and really enjoyed the experience.  We are sure they will have lots of lovely ideas to use in their learning. 
  • Football Tournament

    A mixed team from Year 3 and Year 4 took part in a Football Tournament yesterday at Bowbrook House School.  The team played very well in their four matches and Miss Boyle and Mr Steffens were very proud of  their determination and team spirit.  Well done everyone!
