Pershore High School's Governors have voted unanimously against the proposal to make an application to admit Year 7 pupils from September 2016 onwards.
Please see the letter on Pershore High School's website for further details.
This month we celebrated the achievements of: Jemima, Frankee and Isabel (Level 4 Gymnastics), Sasha (Level 1 Gymnastics), Riley (Ducklings Award Grade 4 and 5m Award), Harry (good progress in swimming), Joseph (Swimming Stage 5) and Emma (showing talent in dance, singing and drama at Stagecoach).
Mrs Bitcon also handed out invitations to her Tea Party next week to all the children who had achieved "80 reads".
Mr Komor was also very proud of Evie, Millie, Farah, Alex, Tyler, Cole, Connie, Stanley, Charlie, Ed and Lexi who have been having piano lessons since the beginning of term and gave a short performance to show off their new skills. Evie then played Happy Birthday with Mrs Bitcon to celebrate all the January birthdays!
On Tuesday afternoon Year 4 invited their parents to a music concert in the school hall so that they could show them what they have learned during their weekly clarinet lessons with Worcestershire Youth Music.
The children were also very excited to hear that the next instrument they will learn to play is the cornet! Lessons will be starting after the half-term break.
Yesterday volunteers from the RSPB came into school to help our Year 4 class take part in the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch. The staffroom was transformed into a bird hide for the afternoon while groups of children used binoculars to observe birds in the school grounds and over the wetlands. Many different species were spotted including Song Thrush, Blackbird, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Chaffinch and Greenfinch.
