  • Year 2 Trip to Barry Island

    Mon 13 Jun 2022

As part of their new topic on Human and Physical geography, Year 2 took a trip to Barry Island. It was the perfect experience to begin to make comparisons between our local Pershore geography; to see how human and physical features can interact / affect one another as well as forming the basis for some 5 senses beach poetry! It was also an amazing opportunity for those children that had never experienced going to a beach to do so!

Please have a look at their class page to see some photos of their activities.

We looked at some of the physical features of the river; including the river banks, vegetation and wildlife. We compared these to the human features, such as the lock and the weir. We also discussed the importance of staying safe around water.
