We had an amazing day at the Royal Three Counties Show on Friday. Some highlights from the day included; meeting Adam Henson, watching the horse and cart scurry and being blown away by the Red Devils’ performance! Thank you to all our parent helpers, we hope you enjoyed your day with us.
Our Year 3 and Year 5 classes have enjoyed a fantastic day at the Three Counties Show, Malvern today. We would like to say a really big thank you to all our parent helpers!
We are expecting the proofs of the class photographs very soon - unfortunately there is a backlog at the studio! We will text the information to you as soon as it is available.
This morning our Year 3 and 4 classes had an exciting opportunity to take part in the Big Sing, an event organised by Severn Arts and the University of Worcester. The event took place at the University of Worcester Arena and the children have been busy practising the songs at school ready to take part in the performance with pupils from across Worcestershire. This was a fantastic chance for the children to be part on a large-scale musical experience.
As part of their new topic on Human and Physical geography, Year 2 took a trip to Barry Island. It was the perfect experience to begin to make comparisons between our local Pershore geography; to see how human and physical features can interact / affect one another as well as forming the basis for some 5 senses beach poetry! It was also an amazing opportunity for those children that had never experienced going to a beach to do so!
Please have a look at their class page to see some photos of their activities.
Summer is rapidly approaching and so is the Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge! This year Libraries are once again able to offer a full Summer Reading Challenge experience for pupils. If they register for the Challenge at the library, they will receive a poster and be able to collect stickers and gifts as they read their books and be able to collect a certificate and Medal if they read their 6 books. There will also be a full programme of activities to complement the theme of this year’s Challenge, which is “Gadgeteers”, running at the Library through the Summer too.
We went bell boating along the River Avon and considered how rivers are important to our lives. We looked at some of the physical features of the river; including the river banks, vegetation and wildlife. We compared these to the human features, such as the lock and the weir. We also discussed the importance of staying safe around water.
We learnt about QinetiQ and what it meant to be an engineer. We then followed instructions to build a Lego robot and programmed it to complete different challenges. These included a football challenge as well as a "Strictly Come Dancing" creative finale!
