"Small enough to care, Big enough to inspire"
Find out about our latest news here!
We have had a very busy Autumn term, participating in lots of sport, from local football and netball matches to inter-academy football and cross country events. The KS2 children have been fantastic, getting stuck in and being resilient in newly formed teams and trying out brand new sports. Although we have had some defeats along the way, the children have begun to form new friendships and develop sportsmanship in matches, as well as putting their attacking and defending skills into practice, although we might need to work on some of the passes?! We would like to thank Holy Redeemer for hosting the netball matches and Inkberrow Primary School for hosting the inter-academy football and cross country events. We are looking forward to seeing what new sporting events 2020 will hold for our KS2 children and unveiling our brand new Orchard Primary football kit!

We are also very proud of Aimee, Liberty and Lily who all entered the Christmas Light Switch On Competition organised by Pershore Community Youth Council; they were asked to design their own Christmas picture. Aimee was a winner in her age group and Liberty and Lily were runners-up. Their designs will now be made into Christmas Cards. Aimee, Liberty and Lily were invited to switch on the Christmas lights in Pershore on Saturday 30 November.
On Thursday 5th December we went on a visit to The Hive in Worcester. We travelled by coach (which was very exciting!) and spent the morning learning all about the library. We had a Christmas story time, looked around the children’s’ section of the library, had a go at returning some books and made Christmas cards for those people who may not receive any in the Worcestershire area. The children had a great time and were very well behaved on their first visit away from school.
This half term Year 2 visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park as part of our topic 'There'ssssssssss a sssssnake in my ssssssschool'. The visit was a fantastic opportunity for us to embed what we had been learning in the classroom i.e. food chains, animal groupings, predators & prey and carnivores, herbivores & omnivores. After our trip we wrote a recount of our visit including our favourite part and what we would do differently if we were given the opportunity to go again. This was our first piece of writing this year writing about real events and in the first person! During our trip we also had a specialist talk on reptiles from one of the park's keepers. We learnt so many facts about reptiles that we are aiming to complete a fact file on snakes and reptiles in the last week of our topic leading up to the Christmas break.
