  • Year 3 Visit Worcester Cathedral

Tue 28 Mar 2017 Miss Secker

On Friday 24 March Year 3 had the opportunity to visit Worcester Cathedral as part of our Festivals, Families and Friendship topic.  We started off the morning by having a tour of the Cathedral and we were shown different symbols of Christianity and we had to draw them; the tour guides told us lots of interesting facts!  Then we were told the Easter story and had lots of little eggs with clues in and we had to work out how the clues related to the story.  Finally there was a challenge - our tour guide had hidden letters around the Cathedral on different things we had explored during the morning.  Working with our partner, we had to find all the letters which spelt out Holy Spirit.  The winner got chocolate eggs!  A fantastic and informative day!

  • Red Nose Day

    Mon 27 Mar 2017

There were lots of whacky and wonderful costumes in school on Friday as the children wore "something funny for money" to raise funds for Comic Relief.  Some came to school in their pyjamas to school, some wore odd socks and shoes and dyed their hair and others wore an amazing variety of colourful outfits - all designed to make us smile!  Thank you to everyone who made a donation, we were pleased to raise £124.55 for this charity.

Mrs Bitcon also gave out badges and rewards to all the children who had achieved their Maths and Reading Awards.

    Well done everyone!

  • Year 1 visit Malvern Theatre

Thu 09 Mar 2017 Mr Bayliss

Year 1's topic this half term will focus upon space exploration.  For World Book Day, in keeping with our space theme, we focused on a David Walliams story called The First Hippo on the Moon.  This story follows the life of a jungle hippo called Sheila, her extremely rich nemesis Hercules Waldorf Franklin the Third and their shared dream of being the first hippo on the moon.

In class we have used the text as a focus within maths, Pie Corbett and topic sessions.  We have also been fortunate enough to go and see the performance at Malvern Theatre this week.  Year 1 children loved the experience of visiting the theatre where we were wowed by the puppetry and live music.  Our highlight however, by unanimous decision, was .... all of the toilet humour!

  • Year 2 Trip to the Theatre

Thu 09 Mar 2017 Mrs Orban
This week Year 2 went to Malvern Theatre to see a lively production of David Walliams' story of Sheila the Hippo who, with the assistance of her friends, wants to be the first hippo on the moon!  The jungle animals were voiced by the actor-puppeteers who gave each animal a clearly defined personality.  The addition of a few songs grabbed the children's attention and added to the entertaining and witty production which the children enjoyed.
  • Y1 Cake Sale

    Mon 06 Mar 2017 Friends

Year 1 parents put their baking skills to good use last week and produced an amazing array of cakes and biscuits for their cake sale on Friday.  The long queue of children wanting to buy their tea-time treat proved how popular this event was!  Thank you to everyone who supported us - Y1 parents were very happy to have raised the fantastic sum of £78.53.
