Thank you to everyone who supported Children-in-Need with us this year - we raised a grand total of £250.69 through our non-uniform/superheroes day and selling our Pudsey biscuits after school! Many thanks to all the parents and children who baked the biscuits for us to decorate and also to the Friends for donating the ingredients.
The children in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 visited the memorial at Pershore Abbey yesterday morning to observe 2 minutes silence on Remembrance Day. Mrs Bitcon had attended a service earlier and laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the school.
Children in Years 1 - 4 were excited to be taking part in a trip to the cinema yesterday to watch Wallace + Gromit: A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers. These films were put on by Number 8 as part of the Into Film Festival 2014. Listening to the children at lunchtime, it was obvious that they had thoroughly enjoyed their visit!
This morning we were pleased to welcome parents and carers to our Celebration Assembly. Our stars this month are: Anya (Level 3 British Gymnastics proficiency award), Frankee (Level 5 British Gymnastics proficiency award), Isabel (Level 7 British Gymnastics proficiency award), Carla (Grade 2 swimming), Lilly (Grade 1 swimming), Liam (Grade 1, 2 and 3 swimming), Chloe (800m distance award - swimming and Silver Award), Luke (25m distance award - swimming), Alice (Stage 3 and 10m distance - swimming), Millie S (Stage 6 swimming award), Sasha (Stage 6 swimming award), Sophia (Stage 5 swimming, Emma (Stage 5 swimming), Ross (Stage 5 swimming), Summer (Stage 1 swimming), Holly (Stage 1 swimming), Farah (Cooking Badge at Brownies) and Emily who successfully completed 8 miles in the Bredon Hill Bikeaway! We are also very proud of Eve, Richard, Zoe, Ross, Alex and Cerys for taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge at the library. What an impressive list! Congratulations everyone!
Yesterday children in Reception enjoyed a trip to Malvern Theatre, joining children from other local schools to watch "The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo's Child".
This visit was part of the "Into Film Festival 2014", an event organised to put film at the heart of children and young people's education, contributing to their academic, cultural, creative and personal development.
The children thought the trip was "fab"! Thank you to all our parent helpers for their support on this trip.
