  • Pershore Christmas Light Switch On!

    Congratulations to Chelsea who was recently announced as a winner in the Pershore Town Youth Council competition to decorate a Christmas bauble!  Chelsea will be switching on the Christmas lights in Pershore on Saturday 29 November at 4.45pm.
  • Poppy Appeal

    Thank you to everyone who supported the 2014 Poppy Appeal with us this month.  This morning we were presented with a certificate from the Pershore & District Branch of the Royal British Legion thanking us for raising the sum of £100.49.
  • Children-in-Need

    Thank you to everyone who supported Children-in-Need with us this year - we raised a grand total of £250.69 through our non-uniform/superheroes day and selling our Pudsey biscuits after school!  Many thanks to all the parents and children who baked the biscuits for us to decorate and also to the Friends for donating the ingredients.

  • TSB Colouring Competition

    Congratulations to Alfie and Millie S who have recently been announced as winners in their age group in the local TSB colouring competition!  Children were asked to colour in a template for a piggy bank and, as winners, Alfie and Millie have been asked to paint a real piggy bank which will be used in the TSB to collect money for the Alzheimers charity.  After the collection period, Alfie and Millie will be allowed to keep their piggy bank.  We look forward to seeing photos of their work!
  • Remembrance Day

    The children in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 visited the memorial at Pershore Abbey yesterday morning to observe 2 minutes silence on Remembrance Day.  Mrs Bitcon had attended a service earlier and laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the school.

  • Film Trip to Number 8

    Children in Years 1 - 4 were excited to be taking part in a trip to the cinema yesterday to watch Wallace + Gromit: A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers.  These films were put on by Number 8 as part of the Into Film Festival 2014.  Listening to the children at lunchtime, it was obvious that they had thoroughly enjoyed their visit!

  • Celebration Assembly

    This morning we were pleased to welcome parents and carers to our Celebration Assembly.  Our stars this month are: Anya (Level 3 British Gymnastics proficiency award), Frankee (Level 5 British Gymnastics proficiency award), Isabel (Level 7 British Gymnastics proficiency award), Carla (Grade 2 swimming), Lilly (Grade 1 swimming), Liam (Grade 1, 2 and 3 swimming), Chloe (800m distance award - swimming and Silver Award), Luke (25m distance award - swimming), Alice (Stage 3 and 10m distance - swimming), Millie S (Stage 6 swimming award), Sasha (Stage 6 swimming award), Sophia (Stage 5 swimming, Emma (Stage 5 swimming), Ross (Stage 5 swimming), Summer (Stage 1 swimming), Holly (Stage 1 swimming), Farah (Cooking Badge at Brownies) and Emily who successfully completed 8 miles in the Bredon Hill Bikeaway!  We are also very proud of Eve, Richard, Zoe, Ross, Alex and Cerys for taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge at the library.  What an impressive list!  Congratulations everyone!

     

  • Trip to Malvern Theatre

    Yesterday children in Reception enjoyed a trip to Malvern Theatre, joining children from other local schools to watch "The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo's Child".

     

    This visit was part of  the "Into Film Festival 2014", an event organised to put film at the heart of children and young people's education, contributing to their academic, cultural, creative and personal development.

     

    The children thought the trip was "fab"!  Thank you to all our parent helpers for their support on this trip.

     

  • Poppy Appeal

    This year we will again be selling various items in support of the Poppy Appeal.  Listed below are the items which will be on sale and the suggested minimum donation:

     

    Friendship Bracelet (various colours) £1.00, Flexi Rulers (various colours) £1.00, Wristbands (various colours) 50p, Bugs 50p, Tattoo (pack of ten) 50p, Hair Clips (various colours) 50p, Pencils (various colours) 50p, Erasers 50p and Reflective Tags 50p.

     

    Year 4 children will be visiting all classes during the week; if your child would like to buy any of these items, please send the money with them into school.
