  • Cherry Orchard Uniform - Update

    We have received a message today from the refugee charity.  They were very pleased with the uniform we gave them; this is now on its way by sea to a Syrian village for orphans. Thank you again to everyone who donated and also to the Friends for organising this. 
  • National Restart a Heart Day

    Wednesday was National Restart a Heart Day and pupils in Year 4 and 5 had a visit from Cody's mum and Myles' mum to tell us about resuscitation as well as water safety.  We watched a video about how to give CPR if someone's heart has failed. We then had the opportunity to practice CPR using the mannequins. We practiced CPR on both baby and child-sized mannequins. We also learned about the importance of defibrillators in starting the heart.

    Jack L (Rookie Lifeguard - Bronze Stage 1 and 2, certificate for taking part in All Stars Cricket during the summer), Josh P (3 Year Award - Stagecoach Performing Arts), Juliette (Vault Medal - National Gymnastics Award, Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge), Katie and Owen (running the Race for Life with their mums), Katie also completed the Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge, Billy (Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge), Zoe (Green Blue Peter Badge which is presented to viewers who care about the environment and nature), Gracie (Young Writers Creativity Award), Finley B (Rookie Lifeguard - Bronze Stage 1 and 2, certificate for taking part in All Stars Cricket during the summer), Rowan (Pershore Rugby Most Improved Player U9), Robyn (Learn to Swim Level 2 Award, Junior Gym Level 1), Zac (Learn to Swim Level 2 Award, Junior Gym Level 1), Alex (Junior Gym Level 1), Lara (Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge), Lily (Gymnastics Medals in Beam Acro, Floor Gym, Vault, Body Prep and Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge), Kian (800m swimming distance award, Silver Swimming Challenge Award, Beavers Communication Badge, Football medal for taking part in a tournament at Evesham United). Kian was also part of the pre-match parade at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium recently, Carla (Cub Badges - Gardening, Swimming, 2 Nights Away, Entertainment, Time on the Water), Ollie (Swimming Challenge Bronze Award), Amelia-May (Learn to Swim Level 3 Award), Eren (Level 1 and 2 Learn to Swim Awards, Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge), Chloe (Learn to Swim Level 1 Award), Liberty (Stage 3 Swimming Award), Jake (Martial Arts Belt), Bella (Walk 500 Miles Medal), Hetty (Level 2 Learn to Swim Award) and Meela (Level 5 Learn to Swim Award).

     

    You may also have noticed Zoe's lovely new hair cut - she very kindly donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust to help other children.

     

    The following children were presented with a certificate for their commitment and excellent teamwork in the Avonreach Schools Football Tournament in October: Zoe, Alisha, Malia, Cormac, Jack L, Grace, Gracie, Vinnie, Owen, Finn C, Harvey-Jack, Sophie, Cody, Rowan, Lewis, Toby, John-Michael, Demi and Keira-Leigh.

     

    We are also very proud of Cormac and Finn for coming up with the idea of a toy sale to raise money for the Oscar Appeal and then helping to organise it with help from their friends.

  • Old School Uniform

    Thank you for all your donations of our old school uniform; these items have taken to a charity based in Malvern who will send the clothing to orphanages abroad.

  • Hand-in-Hand for Oscar Appeal

    Thank you so much to everyone who donated to the appeal for Oscar - we were delighted to raise the fantastic sum of £700 from our non-uniform day, the toy sale organised by Cormac and Finn and the Pre School cake sale!

  • Visit by Life Education Mobile

    Last Friday we had a visit from the Life Education Mobile Bus. All the classes from Year 1 to Year 5 visited the bus and took part in a variety of activities.  The children enjoyed the visit and have lots of interesting follow up work to do in their PSHE lessons.
