  • Author Visit

    On Wednesday the whole school enjoyed meeting author David Wood and were truly mesmerised by the magical adventures of "The Gingerbread Man".  Throughout the day the children were invited to be creative and hands on, demonstrating that books really are a thing of pleasure and purpose.  Year 4 particularly enjoyed learning about the paper engineering that took place behind the scenes in "Funny Bunny's Magic Show"!
  • Christmas Lunch

    The school hall was filled with festive spirit at lunchtime today when the children and staff enjoyed their Christmas lunch together.  During the afternoon, the children were entertained with party games in each classroom.  A lovely way to end the term!
  • Staff Goodbyes

    On Thursday 17 December, staff and children said a sad farewell to Mrs McManus who had worked at the school for 28 years.  We wish her a long and healthy retirement and look forward to seeing her when she pops in.

     

    We also said goodbye to Mrs Coaker who has been at the school since qualifying as a teacher and has now gone to an exciting new job in Worcester.  We wish her lots of luck and look forward to seeing her at future parents and Friends events.

     

    On Friday we also said "au revoir" to Miss Scourfield but we will be seeing her again at the beginning of February when she will be in school one day a week.

  • Soyuz Rocket Launch

    This morning the whole school gathered in the hall to watch the launch of the Soyuz rocket from Kazakhstan to the International Space Station.  The children were excited to watch the British astronaut, Tim Peake, being blasted into orbit at the start of his 6 hour journey to the ISS where he will spend the next 6 months with other astronauts carrying out scientific experiments and educational projects designed to attract young people into science.
  • Year 4 entertain Pathfinders

    This morning our Year 4 class entertained the Pathfinders Group at their Christmas meeting.  The children sang songs, read poems and helped with the raffle.  They then enjoyed chatting with the members before being treated to mince pies and biscuits.

  • Mrs Bitcon's Tea Party

    All the children who have now achieved "20 reads" were invited to a Tea Party with Mrs Bitcon this afternoon.  They all enjoyed cakes and juice while they talked about their favourites stories.

  • NSPCC Bobble Hat Day

    This year the School Council decided that it would like us all to support the NSPCC Bobble Hat Day.  On Friday pupils and staff alike wore festive bobble hats, both bought and home made, in school and brought in any 1p and 2p coins they could spare.  There were some very creative ideas around school and the School Council were very pleased that we raised £43.80 for this charity.
  • Celebration Assembly

    This morning we held our Celebration Assembly and were very pleased to celebrate the achievements of: Connor (Stage 2 Swimming), Phoebe J (Grade 5 Duckling Award), Megan (indoor skydiving), William (Beavers enrolment and first 2 badges), Frankee, Liam, Anya, Sophia, Isabel, Jack and Maisie (for all conquering Tree Top Junior), Anya (taking part in Acorns Lantern Walk), Maisie (Conkers Orienteering Challenge), Lily (Level 7 Gymnastics Proficiency Award), Joshua (Level 6 Gymnastics Proficiency Award), Tiffany (Mathletics - Bronze Certificate), Frankee (Winner of Wychavon Chairman's Christmas card competition) and Connie (winning the Town Council Christmas Lights Switch On competition for "Best Picture").  Congratulations everyone!
  • Letters to Santa!

    A very excited Reception Class walked into Pershore this afternoon to post their letters to Father Christmas!  They have promised that they have all been very good this year so are looking forward to receiving a reply from Santa soon!
  • Christmas Service

    Yesterday afternoon we held our traditional Nativity Service at Pershore Abbey.  We were delighted to be joined by Rev'd Claire and lots of families and friends.  Our thanks go to the staff of Pershore Abbey for once again making us feel so welcome.
