  • Year 1 Trip to Lower Smite Farm

Fri 28 Feb 2020 Mrs Cantrill

On Thursday 13 February, Year 1 visited Lower Smite Farm to discover more about how certain foods are made. They listened to the story of the Little Red Hen and learnt about the journey of bread. They took part in lots of activities throughout the day such as grinding their own wheat to make flour and used this to make their own bread. They also looked at food that grows from the ground and conducted experiments to find out what the best conditions are to grow in. We ended the day with a nature walk through the farm and orchard looking at the fruit trees.
