  • Opening of our new Running Track

    Wed 28 Feb 2018
The children have been celebrating the installation of a new running track.  It was launched by the Year 2 children racing two go-carts which the children made with the help of their class teacher and some parents.  This was followed by the children having a running race.  All the pupils are looking forward to using this new facility in their quest to get fit!
  • Year 3 - Dance Festival

    Mon 26 Feb 2018
On Wednesday 14 February, Year 3 competed in a Dance Festival at Prince Henry's High School.  We had great fun watching a showcase of dances from local primary schools and the High School and we loved performing our dance routine to "Roar" by Katy Perry!  It was a great experience and we would like to thank Prince Henry's High School for inviting us to perform.
  • Piano Concert

Thu 15 Feb 2018 Mr Komor
Well done to all of the pianists who performed so well in our piano assembly this week.  For some of the newest players it was a first chance to perform in front of a large audience, whilst for others it was an opportunity to show how much they have grown in musical skill and confidence over the last year.  Thank you to all the families and friends who came to watch, and thank you also for the support given at home as the children prepared for the concert.  Learning an instrument and then playing in front of others combines all sorts of skills, and our performers really worked hard to put on a great show.
  • Reception's Trip to Bristol Aquarium

Tue 13 Feb 2018 Mrs Brown
On Friday 9 February Reception visited Bristol Aquarium as part of their Under the Sea Topic.  While there the children were able to see stingrays, sea horses, lobster, starfish, sharks and Nemo.  They were even able to throw some food in for the sharks!  Unfortunately the octopus was very shy and we didn't get to see him on our visit.  This was our first school trip and the children were so well behaved and polite, our guide was very impressed with their behaviour.  Overall, a great day at the aquarium!  Thank you to all the parents who helped.
  • Year 3 - Art Workshop

Thu 08 Feb 2018 Miss Mabbott
On Tuesday afternoon, Year 3 were treated to a lovely art workshop from Number 8.  Year 3 loved being artists for the afternoon, creating their own Space-themed canvas with oil pastels and paints.  The children loved learning how to create a shadow and reflection effect as well as blending dark and light colours together for their planets.  We are looking forward to finding out which of our artwork will be chosen for an art exhibition at Number 8 next week!  Year 3 really enjoyed the afternoon and would like to thank the artists and Number 8 for organising and coming to deliver such a fun afternoon!
  • RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch

    Wed 07 Feb 2018

Yesterday Year 4 took part in the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch.  The staffroom became a hide for the afternoon and bird seed was scattered outside to attract the feathered visitors!  The children were able to use binoculars to get the best view of the birds and were able to spot greenfinch, chaffinch, a robin and pheasants amongst others.  They also saw geese flying over the wetlands.

A big thank you to Patrick and Margaret, the RSPB volunteers, who  came along to help us.
