"Small enough to care, Big enough to inspire"
Find out about our latest news here!
We would like to thank all the children, parents and carers for their gifts, cards and good wishes at the end of term. They were much appreciated by all the staff.
We hope you all enjoy the summer holidays and look forward to seeing you all back at school in September.
Fortunately, the sun continued to shine as we held our Leavers Assembly outside on Friday morning. Parents, family and friends had their tissues ready as our Year 4 children shared their memories of each other and their time with us at Cherry Orchard as well as their hopes and dreams for the future!
We would like to thank the Rotary Club who presented every Year 4 child with an Usborne Illustrated English Dictionary. Many thanks also to the Friends who paid for the photographs given to all the Year 4 children as a keepsake.
During the week the children had written their hopes for the future onto cards which they attached to helium filled balloons on Friday morning. At the end of our Assembly, the children released these eco-friendly, red balloons into the sky!
The children then enjoyed a picnic in the school grounds with parents, family and friends. A lovely way to end the school year!
Year 4 children were treated to a surprise Leavers Party last night organised by their parents! The children enjoyed fish and chips and fruit cocktails in their special VIP area before joining the rest of the school for a disco!
Many thanks to the Friends for organising the disco and providing drinks and lollies for the children - they certainly appreciated them in the warm weather!
This week parents, family and friends came to see our summer production - Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies - at Number 8 in Pershore. The whole school took part, performing dances to songs such as Money, Money, Money , YMCA and Knock on Wood! There were fabulous performances from our Year 4 children who took the leading roles in the show, definitely some stars in the making - remember you saw them here first! The hard work put in by all the children and staff definitely paid off!
Thank you to Number 8, Owen in the technical team for taking care of sound and lighting and Mr Smith for the scenery.
We would also like to thank all the parents and family members for coming and supporting the children. We hope you enjoyed the show!
Earlier this term, Year 4 were lucky enough to receive rugby coaching in school during their PE lessons. This morning they had the opportunity to put the skills they had learned into practice by taking part in a Tag Rugby Festival at Pershore Rugby Club! Many thanks to the Rugby Club for organising this event; the children really enjoyed it.
If any of the children would like to continue improving their skills, Pershore Rugby Club will be holding a Rugby Fun Day on Sunday 21 September from 11am - 1pm!
This morning our Year 2 class attended a Multi Sports Festival at Pershore High School. This is the largest such event that the High School have organised and over 300 local children were invited! The children were divided into teams with children from other local schools and took part in various activities during the morning - skipping, target throw, bat and ball, slalom, ladders and running amongst others! All the children will all be presented with a certificate for taking part at the Celebration Assembly on Friday.
Friday 4 July was "Move Up Day" in school! Our Year 4 children visited their chosen Middle School while the rest of the children spent the day in their new classroom doing exciting activities and getting to know their new class teacher. We also welcomed all the children who will be starting school with us next term - we look forward to seeing them all again in September!
