World Book Day Tokens
Fri 09 Feb 2024World Book Day tokens are being sent home today. The tokens are valid from 15 February - 31 March; we hope the children enjoy choosing and enjoying a new book!

Languages Workshop
Wed 07 Feb 2024Today, our Year 5 and 6 classes were excited to take part in a language workshop with Year 9 pupils from Pershore High School. The High School pupils performed a short play/drama using props to help us understand French, German and Japanese language. They also organised some interactive, fun games for our pupils.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and showed great enthusiasm, saying it was "really good" and they liked that High School children were involved and leading the activities.
A wonderful way to encourage our children to have a love of languages!

Year 6 PHSE Morning
Wed 07 Feb 2024Yesterday at Pershore High School, we were taken on a tour around the school by ex- Orchard Primary pupils. We were shown the main facilities of the school and then we got to go and visit some Y11 students and ask them about their learning in the IT suite as well as ask them other questions about the school. After this we had a group activity linked to Safer Internet Day with Mr Pyatt and some sixth form students – we discussed different scenarios and how people would feel in these, as well as how we could resolve any potential problems.

Year 5 Science Session
Wed 07 Feb 2024Year 5 visited the Science Department at Pershore High School last Friday to take part in an 'Alien Ice Core' activity morning. They worked in groups to uncover a secret message based around an environmental pollution theme and enjoyed using specialist equipment, working like real scientists!

Safer Internet Day
Tue 06 Feb 2024Today we joined schools and youth organisations across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2024. Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote in school and celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year.

Year 4 Art Workshop
Fri 02 Feb 2024Today our Year 4 class took part in a workshop arranged by Number 8, Pershore. The artist, Maggi Davis, showed the class how to recreate the stained glass technique; please have a look at their class page to see some of their work.
The children's pictures, together with artwork from other local schools, will be displayed in an exhibition at Number 8 from 22 March until 10 April.

Tree Planting
Thu 01 Feb 2024We are very grateful to AA Grounds Maintenance who have donated some Wild Cherry and Silver Birch trees to our school. Yesterday, they were helped by four of our pupils to plant these saplings in the school grounds; we look forward to seeing the trees flourish over the coming months!

Hearing Tests for Reception Pupils
Thu 01 Feb 2024The School Health Nursing Team visited this morning to carry out hearing tests for all Reception pupils. The results have now been added to the School Screener Portal for parents/carers to login in and view their child's results. If you have not yet registered on the portal, it is not too late sign up!
The Team will visit again in April to re-test pupils who did not pass or who were absent from school today.
